Show me how to live

To those who conquered their Hell Weeks, I salute you!

But it hasn't all been about academics. The parties have been so frequent lately that my feet, respiratory system and auditory canal are all but dead. It's only now that I realize that Ateneans (especially the burgis ones) are such party animals. And drinking! it's like I've been drinking every week now. Even I'm being surprised at myself sometimes. A few years ago I couldn't imagine myself drinking and partying every week...yet here I am now. I grew up, and it's scary!

Four weeks ago was [[aMp]]'s Rites of Passage. The new bands played, and they were really good! Mia and I got shifts with the HR people. It's really not easing checking attendance in a crowded room with loud rock music blaring throughout. Congrats to us since the logistics was the best in years! Good job to us!

Three weeks ago was the Bionight, by the Biological Organization. Costume party, so I went as j-pop; Maxx went as Avril and Karen went as a cowgirl, so basically we represented music genres (pop, rock, and country). Coolness. Sir Ron as Magneto was priceless! Sad though that only us, Jen, Exo, Erwin, and BJ represented the sophomore batch. I also got to hang out in Karen's dorm, and I saw her *gasp* buang side, haha!

Two weeks ago was bj's birthday. So there was a drinking party at carlo's dorm - complete with red horse, tequila, rum, gin, and stuff that bj mixed with chocolate ice cream (haha it was good). Only problem is, it was on a thursday night, right after the cat dissection. So friday's word for the day was SABOG. And carlo, be proud: you gave me my first shot of tequila. Gaah!

A week ago was Halikinoise, also an [[aMp]] event. Sad that out of our block, only Jen and I were able to go. And the venue was so hard to find; 6 Underground literally was underground! After going to Glorietta from Katipunan via LRT and MRT we were supposed to have ridden a taxi towards Palanca street, we decided to walk since that effing taxi driver told us that the place was just two blocks away. No such luck; the place turned out to be ten blocks away and we went back and forth along the street twice coz we weren't sure where exactly the bar was. Not only was the venue obscure; it was crowded, smoky, small and hot. Jen and I had to go out to the street just to breathe "clean" air (Makati isn't known for its lack of pollution). Despite that, the event turned out okay since the bands were good :). Congrats to Jen for greeting the happy drummer! However, since Halikinoise was on a friday and I got home really late, I was too tired to go to NSTP at 7am. Used up one of my precious three cuts already! :(

The day after that (Saturday) was the fundraiser event at katipunan. So I listened to noisy rock bands again. I also got to hang out with the Management people and I got to see my batchmates from St. Paul. I also drank. Hurrah for me.

Last night was the batch party at Citrus' bar in Glorietta, also a fundraiser. The Makati area seems to be jinxed for me since I got lost again in the Glorietta complex trying to find the place. In fact, the event seems like a repeat of Halikinoise (i.e. small place, loads of people) except that there were no bands. I actually thought that there was going to be a manageable number of people since the tickets were sold out (I assumed they sold a limited number, since not everyone was able to get). Interestingly, there were a lot of people there who were definitely not from the second year; actually some weren't even from Ateneo. Good job! And although there was a one-hour open bar, I only drank half a glass of punch since I didn't like the taste (it was spiked with gin). The place was so overflowing that come 12 midnight, we went out of the place and ate, of all places, at KFC and McDo. Hahaha!

It's definitely been a busy month for me. Next week will be Rock-U (rock bands again) but I don't think I'll go. I'd like to take a break from the busy life, thank you.

Anyway, I learned three things from all of this:
1. It's ironic that we like to feel philanthropic by holding a fundraiser party but we rejoice when NSTP (an activity that involves actual effort) gets cancelled because of the dengue risk.
2. If it's a big party and the venue is small, do not wear heels. Chances are you'll never get to sit on a chair all night.
3. I don't like beer. It's bitter.

P.S. Congrats to us for faci-ing the first ever [[aMp]] listening session! The only things lacking were promotions and food. :)
P.P.S. To Jen: now you'll have to update your blog too! MUHAHAHAHA! *evil laugh*
