Final decision

My dad FINALLY agreed to let me go to Ateneo (albeit a little reluctantly).

Mom and dad are arguing (again), this time over our vacation to the States. I can see that it's really hard for mom to live with dad since he's so TIGHTFISTED.

It was my dad's idea that we (me, mom and Tammy) should go to the States on vacation as a graduation gift. So my mom went through all the hassle of applying for passports and visas (which takes a very very LOOONG time), arranging the necessary papers, looking for flights, checking on prices of stuff in the States (which is obviously a long list of things to do). Then my dad backs out since he won't part with his lovely money to give us the money we need to survive there (even though the peso appreciated to its highest value for a long time!).

My mom's now getting really annoyed with dad, and I can sympathize with her. Dad has this tendency on focusing too much on the accumulation of money, and not on what you spend it on. In my point of view I think that's a wrong mindset, since isn't the value of money based on what you spend it on? I mean, it took me a long time to finally persuade my dad to let me go to Ateneo, because I think that it offers a better quality of education as opposed to UP even though the tuition's cheaper in the latter.

I really really really hope and pray that mom and dad won't get separated or commit infidelity, especially now that mom's going to the States for a year to petition us. I DON'T want our family to become a broken home. Please Lord!
